Working with Suzanne from Vancouver Health Coach has changed my entire life. Suzanne’s unique approach to overall holistic wellness addresses everything from nutrition and exercise to managing stress. While food and movement are integral, Suzanne also looks at the emotional barriers to good health, and highlights the importance of restorative practice. Suzanne has, quite simply, had a deep and lasting effect on the way I live my life. When I started working with Suzanne, having just turned 30, I was beginning to see the daily effects of chronic bad health: I was tired, slow, and heavy, and I couldn’t walk up a hill without getting winded. I ate enjoyably, but blind to nutrition and food sensitivities; I had never been in a gym; I was terrified of going to yoga and other exercise classes where I thought I would be judged for my inability. Suzanne built me a monthly meal plan, guided me through gym workouts, and went with me to yoga classes, ballet classes, and wellness workshops. Together, we learned about what would work for me, and implemented big – sometimes scary – changes. There were, of course, the results one hopes for: I’m now a non-smoker, I lost 20 pounds, I have energy and vitality on a daily basis. But, what working with Suzanne did for me goes far beyond these physical expressions of wellness; with Suzanne’s patient guidance I was able to learn – and practice – a whole new relationship to myself and my body. I am very literally a whole new me, and for that I could not be more thankful.
To other potential clients of Vancouver Health Coach, I would say that I am aware of the seeming indulgence of focusing on your health in such an immersive manner. Most of us think we don’t have the time or the money to devote to what seems like such a huge commitment. But for me, that commitment was probably the best gift I could ever have given myself. In the end, working with Suzanne has given me more time and energy daily, more drive, focus and direction, and (hopefully) more healthy years to enjoy my friends, my family, and my life.
